TOPIC: “Connecting the Dots…Marrying Accounting to the Wonderful World of Payroll"
This session will show the importance or the relationship between Accounting and Payroll departments (big and small) around the world and industry wide. This speaker found during her research, that Payroll is the most important aspect of every organization, and that compliance is what all paychecks are built on. Our goal will be to explain how each payroll department should always strive for excellence by utilizing the science of accounting as a culture that houses many distinct specialties which will serve as the phenomenal foundation for accurate, efficient, and effective payrolls. BIO: Bonetta J Bond is a native Nashvillian, who currently resides in Hendersonville, TN. She has continually been an accountant with a passion for "best practices" since proudly graduating in 1976 from Tennessee State University, where she received an Honors BS Degree with Distinction in Accounting. In 2012, believing in being empowered through training, mentoring and education, she tested and received herFPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) from American Payroll Association.
During Bonetta's 44 years of work history in "corporate America", she has been blessed to gain experience in estate planning, bank and account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, income tax preparation, credit managing, monthly taxation, quarterly and yearly taxes, sales tax preparation, nationwide regulatory and compliance state and federal payroll tax laws, interpreted financial information for analysis purposes, acquisitions and divestitures, preparation of support for audits (employee vs independent contractor, SSA, non-profit and for profit entities, State unemployment and executive documentation for Company-paid personal usage). Twenty-three years of her work experience was spent as a supervising manager of accounting and regulatory compliance in Employment Tax at a national healthcare corporation which constantly employed 300,000+. Over the years, Bonetta has become a speaker on Accounting, Tax, Leadership, Time Management, and the ability to empower yourself through entrepreneurship.
